this is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault in norway.

it’s pretty mind-blowing. the government of norway basically built the facility to house every seed imaginable for crops that have developed, florished, died, whatever. you name it, they have it.

the idea is that in case of global famine and crops completely dying out due to whatever reason, we as a human race might still have a chance if we can just get the seeds that are stored there to reproduce and re-spawn for food. crazy.

plus, i mean, the construction of this vault is straight out of hoth. which makes it doubly awesome.
